The terms are listed alphabetically by the English form but in the case of the personal name, this is usually done by the customary short form. Historic forms are listed alongside native forms, though generally last. In cases where the form generally used in English is the primary native form, other native forms are shown with a note. ![]() The glossary is not primarily etymological the glossed form is often but not always the source of an imported word. Script reforms, as in Russian, are not applied retroactively, and in the absence of attestation the original form has been reconstructed from the modern, reformed version.
